The Tasty Balls Contest – Day 3

So…what did you have for dinner last night? You know what I had? Three pieces of my candy and a glass of wine. Woo! What a sugar rush. It gave me some energy which I used to watch TV with. I was too lazy to go food shopping, which is my most hated chore in the world besides doing laundry, and I really didn’t have anything to eat, so it was either candy or pickles….and candy goes better with wine.

It’s only around dinner time that I miss living at home. You don’t realize how great it is to have your mom cook dinner every night until you have to do it for yourself all the time. The weird thing is, that I LOVE to cook for other people. Sometimes I’ll invite people for dinner just so I am forced to make a good and complete meal. When I’m alone, I’ll just eat some yogurt standing up while watching Family Feud.

Anyway, so far it looks like it’s coming down to two choices;  Celestial Candy or Death to Hollywood: The Candy!  Now, we have to think from a marketing angle. I would love nothing more than to have little bags with skulls on it and call it Death Candy. But you know how people are all scared by death, so I don’t know about that. But then again, skulls are very popular right now. And I could have a separate page on the blog called “The Candy” where people could buy it.

Pirate Skull Cellophane Party Bags

If you were in a store (and this candy will be in some stores) and you saw “Death Candy”  or “Celestial Candy” what would you buy?  Of course, I would immediately go for the Death Candy. But that’s me. All these good ideas have confused me 😀

One reader brought up a good point about Celestial Candy being so close to the tea company Celestial Seasonings. The more I think about it, the more I like Death Candy, but I’m not the most objective person here. I have to decide by Friday because that’s when the winner will be chosen.

With that being said, more input is needed, so I can become more confused. Keep the comments comin’.

Have a sweet day! 😛

About Death To Hollywood

I am a writer/comedian that was kind of pressured into doing a blog. I didn't really know much about blogs which is why I resisted. But now that I have one, I still don't know much about them. I like to tell funny stories that are true. Hopefully, you like to read those kinds of stories. If not, go read something serious and boring.....

How about,Death to Hollywood -“The Death Stars” tying the death and the hollywood theme and death by candy all in a pretty package Love,Mom

  2. Beth says:

Well, we know what Little Deaths are. “La Petite Mort”. Leave it to the French. Death Candy sounds a little morbid I guess. What about combining the two you like – Celestial Death Candy.

I do not envy you this one Cee!

    My thoughts-

    Death to Hollywood the Candy-

Very catchy and a good tie in with the blog. One can reinforce the other BUT too confusing? Like when you wonder what a cereal company is doing selling baby shampoo or what not.
(Death Stars is so good too, if you could get away from the “Star Wars” cross over.)

    Celestial Candy-

Good tie in with your name and potential for different candy names BUT may be too confusing with Celestial Seasonings the tea company. Some people might think it originates from the tea company.

    Break away name-

Donahue’s Delights, but not as catchy as either of the names above. 😦

The contest doesn’t have to end on Friday, you know!

  4. Kal says:

This one is from Brynne: Celestial Candy presents “Sweet Little Deaths”. Or possibly “Death’s Little Sweets”.

  5. Dani C. says:

    Cee, how’s about Petit Mort-sels?

    …oh never mind…I’m too tired….

…and why does the contest have to end Friday? That puts extra pressure on everyone!!! 🙂

How about Celeste’s Death By Candy…..
