Monday, Monday!

I can’t believe it’s Monday already. The weekends go way to fast. Who’s idea was five days of work and two days off anyway?  No doubt, it was some corporate, money grubber. I don’t think it’s healthy, I think it should be four days of work and three days off, or two days of work and five days off, or one day of work and six days off. No wonder everyone’s so miserable. People are working more than relaxing and are still broke.

Do you remember when  the standard hours of a work day were 9 to 5? Dolly Parton even wrote a song about it for the movie with the same title. Then, companies slowly started changing their hours from 9 to 6, so that they could get a full 8 hours of work out of their employees, because when the hours were 9 to 5, that included an hour lunch, so employers were really only getting 7 hours of work out of their employees. Again, I can just hear some greedy corporate douche bag saying “they shouldn’t get paid for their lunch hour.”

Do you get that Sunday night feeling? It’s the same feeling I had in school. It’s like a little depressing feeling because you know you have to go to work the next day and start the grind all over again. Do you know that Oscar Mayer advertises that their deli creations will “cure a case of the Mondays?”  Since when does deli meat make a Monday any better? But next weekend is a 3-day weekend and ironically, as I complain, it’s Labor Day weekend, which honors all the working people. And what do they give us? One stinkin’ day!  It should be Labor week, not Labor day.

By the way, I spent some time over the weekend fixing the Celestial Treats page so that you can order multiple bags. I was so excited when I initially got the page set up that I didn’t notice that you couldn’t buy quantities…but now you can! Problem solved. You can save on shipping and buy multiple bags of tasty balls!

candy or deli meat to cure a case of the Mondays?

Can you take anyone seriously who says that they “have a case of the Mondays?” When I think about Oscar Mayer, I think about baloney. Does anyone eat baloney anymore?

Maybe if you’re feeling bad today, you should eat a piece of baloney and see if your day improves,  and if not, sue them because it didn’t cure your case of the Mondays!

Have a great day! 😀

About Death To Hollywood

My name is Celeste Donohue and I am a writer/comedian who started this blog to tell stories about my life growing up in a funeral home and my adult life which I have spent in Hollywood, California – hence the name, “Death To Hollywood”. Hopefully, you like to read those kinds of stories. If not, go read something serious and boring.....

I have long felt that we should have three-day weekends: one day for errands and chores; one day for recreation; and one day for rest and recovery. Anything less is simply not right.
