Celestial Treats on TV?

It’s not really like me to brag about things I’m doing or going tocndy do, but I’m going to right now because I’m excited about it. You know all I’ve been doing is peddling my candy to anyone and everyone, and a couple of months ago, I decided to contact some wedding/event planners and see if they would like some samples in the event that they could include the candy as a party favor or something. Keep in mind, I contacted six event planners and only ONE had the courtesy to respond.  I sent her the samples and she and her team LOVED them and told me they would keep me in mind for any events they might have.  That was that and I didn’t think much of it…until last week when she contacted me and said that KTLA, a local news station, contacted her to be on the morning show featuring great gift wrap ideas and she wants my candy to be one of those gifts!

Not only am I thrilled at the possibility of my candy making the morning news segment, I didn’t know at the time I contacted her, that she is one of the biggest event planners in LA. There was a show on Bravo called The Ring Leader and she was the ring leader. Of course, there is no guarantee that my candy will make it on to the segment because she will pitch the gift ideas, but ultimately the TV people are the ones who choose what gifts get on-air, but I think if they eat the candy, it will get on-air, so keep your dirty, little fingers crossed!

I just take this as proof that the candy is delicious!  Normally, I wouldn’t even say anything unless I knew it was going to make the show, but I’m just excited that someone who organizes million dollar events thinks enough of my candy to want to include it on TV!  Is this bragging?? Well then, I’m a braggart….a very excited braggart!

And I want to mention how professional and nice she and her team have been to deal with, and this is why I think some people are successful.  I have contacted  a lot of people about the candy and I can’t tell you how surprising it is that people don’t have the common courtesy to respond. A “no” is better than no response at all or a “we don’t want your stinkin’ candy” would be better than no response at all.  I honestly can’t believe how people stay in business without having basic business professionalism, but whatever, because they’re the losers that won’t get to eat the candy.

By the way, I am truly impressed with this wedding/event planner, Kristin Banta. If I ever have the guts to get married, I want her to plan my wedding because if I do it, it would be a mess and she is one of the best at what she does. I can’t imagine planning a wedding. A keg party, sure….but a whole wedding? That’s why there’s people like her. Here is a video of Kristin as The Ring Leader, otherwise known as the smart lady who likes my candy:

Have a sweet day!

About Death To Hollywood

My name is Celeste Donohue and I am a writer/comedian who started this blog to tell stories about my life growing up in a funeral home and my adult life which I have spent in Hollywood, California – hence the name, “Death To Hollywood”. Hopefully, you like to read those kinds of stories. If not, go read something serious and boring.....
