Oscar Contest Giveaway – Day 4!

Good morning hopeful winners!!  Are you getting excited for the possibility of winning a Hollywood prize pack and some delicious Celestial Treats?? If not, I’m excited for you so let’s get started.

Today’s category is for Best Original Screenplay. This category is important because it is the movie writer’s idea and the movie writer’s story, as opposed to Adapted Screenplay, where they get the story from a book or somewhere. That also takes great writing talent, but I like this category better. And most importantly, any good movie starts with good writing.

Written by Michael Haneke

I didn’t see this movie. It’s a foreign film and I don’t like to read subtitles. The problem is, I love to read and I love to watch movies, but I don’t like to do it at the same time,  so I don’t know if this is good or not. But it probably is because foreign films are usually story-driven. If only foreigners were as good as their films. LOL.  J/k, J/k

Django Unchained

Written by Quentin Tarantino

I saw this and I liked it. It is typical Quentin Tarantino style with quick dialogue and lots of bloody, killing scenes, but it was good. Not my favorite of his movies though…and movies that have to do with slavery always make me feel a little sad.

Written by John Gatins

I saw this one too. I liked it but I didn’t think it was particularly amazing. I think you can wait for DVD, and you’ll like it, but you’ll probably glad you didn’t get ripped off for a full-price movie ticket.

Moonrise Kingdom
Written by Wes Anderson & Roman Coppola

I LOVED this movie! I think you should rent it, watch it, and if you don’t like it  you’re a weirdo! This is a very underrated movie. I want this to win, but probably won’t 🙂 Booooo!!

zeroZero Dark Thirty
Written by Mark Boal

I really wanted to see this until I found out that it was 2 hours and 40 minutes long. Whoa! Gotta be on a couch or a bed for that amount of time. I also heard it was good, but a little bit draggy too, so that’s gonna have to wait for DVD.

1.Who is your Oscar prediction for Best Original Screenplay?

(Amour, Django Unchained, Flight, Moonrise Kingdom, Zero Dark Thirty)

2. If you wrote a movie about a girl who took a Flight to a Moonrise Kingdom at  Zero Dark Thirty with a man named Django who was Unchained due to his recent divorce because of his secret Amour, what would you name the movie?

Bonus question:

3. In the movie Flight, Denzel Washington is a pilot and probably a member of the mile high club. Are you a member of the mile high club, and if not, why not? Is it because you don’t like having sex in bathrooms that aren’t big enough for one person, let alone two? Is it because the bathrooms of the plane were occupied? Is it because you thought it would be inappropriate to have sex in the middle seat? What’s stopping you from joining this exclusive club?

About Death To Hollywood

My name is Celeste Donohue and I am a writer/comedian who started this blog to tell stories about my life growing up in a funeral home and my adult life which I have spent in Hollywood, California – hence the name, “Death To Hollywood”. Hopefully, you like to read those kinds of stories. If not, go read something serious and boring.....

  1. George Monkey says:

    1) “Django Unchained” is my pick … although I prefer “Secretary.” And it is nice that Emmanuelle Riva now stars in “Amour” with less “Hiroshima.” Oh, and about “Emmanuelle” … I miss Sylvia Kristel so much!

    2) “Fred.” (You have to admit my answer is “Right Said.”)

    3) A gentleman never kisses and tells!!! But I do think most people are not joining the Mile High Club now because of the exorbitant “carry-on” fees that most airlines are charging. With out the ability to “carry on,” several positions are stricken from one’s repertoire. I do hear that Southwest charges no fees … but they also do not assign seating … and that can create a bigger problem. You also want to make sure you don’t start anything and then find you do not have the money to pay the carry-on fees … because then you are flying Jet Blue.

  2. Josephine says:

Aren’t there more movies? I thought they were starting to include more movies but I am terrible at keeping up with this stuff.

    1. Among the movies presented, I would like “Moonrise Kingdom” to win but I have a feeling something else will win.

    2. “Premise Beach”

    3. I am afraid of heights. 😉

  3. Kal says:

    1. Moonrise Kingdom. An Anderson *and* a Coppola wrote it … that means there’s two powerful voting blocs that will end up tipping the balance their way.

    2. “Star Wars, Episode VII: Because People Will Line Up To Watch This Movie No Matter What The Hell Kind Of Script It Has”

    3. “Exclusive”? Practically every adult living in Denver is a member. I require a bit more exclusivity in my clubs…

  4. Kris says:

    1. Not sure….saw Zero and Flight and none of the others. Out of those 2 movies, would be Flight.
    2. Would name the movie “Mile High Club”… lol
    3. No Thank You…..ears get clogged:)

  5. AnnaZed says:

    1. ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ will take this as a consolation prize since no way (no how) are the academy members seriously considering this in any high visibility category least they be accused of being in favor of water-boarding or worse.

    2. A Moonlight Flight from Coeur Brisé

    3. Bonus question:

Not in a million years of Sundays, not least because I might vomit on the guy’s … um … lap. However were Denzel himself to appear on the scene that just might be another matter.

  6. Mary says:

    1. Flight – I love Denzel

    2. Dumb!

    3. No – I hate flying

  7. Theresa says:

    Zero Dark Thirty

  8. Y says:

    1. Moonrise Kingdom because of the title
    2. Whatever. Doubt I’d remember the name anyway, so may as name it Whatever.
    3. Nope. Turbulence and the PA of please return to your seat and fasten seatbelt always come on when I try anything remotely enjoyable.
